THRIVE THURSDAY! I’ve Been Quiet for a Reason

Preparation Requires Presence

It’s been two weeks since the last Thrive Thursday but it feels like it's been 2 months.

And honestly? That absence came with good reason.

First—my wife and I are adjusting to life with our newborn son, Emory. And let me just say this plainly for every parent reading this:

Infants are beautiful… and exhausting especially when there's a toddler in the house to accompany them.

The sleep shifts, the constant attention, the unpredictability, it’s stretching me in new ways. But even in the exhaustion, I’m grateful. There’s something sacred about being present in these early moments, even when they come with little sleep.

Second, I’ve been deeply focused on preparing for the Get To Worthy Summit, happening this Saturday.

Not just preparing logistically but spiritually.

I’ve been trying to consecrate myself and protect my focus leading into this weekend because I genuinely believe this gathering matters. Too many people are carrying silent battles, emotional fatigue, grief, confusion, and pressure without safe spaces to process it.

And this summit was created for exactly that.

“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” - Joshua 3:5 (NIV)

That verse has been sitting with me heavily this week.

Sometimes preparation looks productive.
And sometimes preparation looks like pulling back, becoming still, and protecting your spirit before what God is about to do. That’s where I’ve been.

REFLECT + RESPOND

  1. What in your life currently needs your full presence and attention?
  2. Where might God be asking you to slow down and prepare spiritually?
  3. What distractions do you need to release in this season?

You were made to thrive.
And sometimes thriving means honoring the season you’re in while preparing for the one God is bringing you into.

With you on the journey,
– Nate

THRIVE THURSDAY! How To Say What You Feel Without Hurting Who You Love

Say What You Feel Without Hurting Who You Love Can I confess something to you? When I'm bothered, my natural inclination isn't always to immediately tell you what's wrong. Sometimes... I get quiet. My tone changes, and my responses get shorter. I might say, "Nothing's wrong," while everything about my energy is communicating that something is definitely wrong. Maybe you can relate. I've had to recognize that one of my tendencies when I'm frustrated or hurt can be passive-aggression. Instead...

THRIVE THURSDAY! You're not fine and that's okay

When You Say You're Fine...But You're Not Can I ask you a question? How are you doing? Before you answer, really think about it. Not how work is going. Not how the family is doing. Not whether the bills are paid. Not what's next on your calendar. How are you? I've been sitting with that question a lot lately. I'm currently working on a project centered around the idea of what happens when you look fine, but you're really not. And working through it has forced me to examine some things in my...

THRIVE THURSDAY! What If It's Working...Just Not Yet?

What If It's Working...Just Not Yet? Can I coach you for a few minutes? I want you to think about the area of your life that's been frustrating you lately. You know the one. You've been praying about it. Working on it. Trying to make better decisions. Showing up differently. Maybe you've even done some healing. But if you're being honest, you're frustrated because you thought you'd be further along by now. Maybe it's your career. Your finances. Your business. Your health. Your marriage. Your...
